Rejection leads us down the winding path. Doors closing, prayers falling on deaf ears. We feel like God has removed His favor from our life, and our doubt overpowers our faith. Will He come through? What have I done wrong? The questions and fears begin to fill our mind.
So we begin to take chances, knocking on new doors. Instead of presenting our wants to Him through prayer, we listen for that still small voice. Instead of relaxing in comfort and the norm of life, or snuggling up to routines and our tried and true formulas, we begin to seek Him.
Rejection takes us further. It stretches us, makes us dig deeper. Through rejection we find our purpose and acceptance.
We can get too comfortable with this life. When things are going good we have no reason to explore new options, seek out new friendships, or try new things. When doors close we can either wait for it to open again, which may be never, or we can continue down the path.
Through rejection we are finally ready to hear all that God has planned for us…
Our faith begins with what we know and believe about God. Our faith will carry us how far we are willing to let it take us. Faith is a choice and we need to begin by choosing to believe in Jesus and His power to move mountains, heal the sick, and save us from all our sins through His sacrifice on the cross.
