Wow, I am struggling with writing lately, especially about what is on my heart lately. I feel like my writing and my blog is suffering greatly. But it’s something I love so much, and maybe the writer’s block is all my own high expectations taking root in my life.
Maybe I am wanting perfection over process.
Isn’t that the truth with writing? It’s a process and it is never going to be perfect.
There has been so much on my heart, and mind; I often just find myself getting lost in thought with God and worshipping Him. I think it’s just a call to reconnect and my natural rhythm in life brings me to this point, the last full month of summer for my three children, to take a blogging break and be more present at home and with my Bible and in prayer.
Sometimes I battle the blogging break, or I will try to use it as a time to get caught up and blog in advance. Why would I want to take a blogging break when I absolutely love blogging?
But not this year, I am not battling the season of rest that I plan on taking for the month of July. This year my heart has found so much healing and peace about the season of life I am in. It has found so much joy in simply being still and trusting God.
I’ve had to wrestle a lot of pain, heartache, and anger over the past year; I’ve had to reevaluate relationships in my life, the role of social media in my life, and what my next steps in life are going to be.
Last July I took a break and I decided to start going to college and it was one of the best decisions I have made in my life.
I am walking in faith that this July will be better than the last year; just because I finally found direction last July, it took some of the most painful moments in my life to get me to that point. It took a lot of courage and so much faith to even take the first step.
So the break begins today, and as I leave you all to enjoy the special summer month of July I am going to leave you with a few things I have in the works, or have just released:
- Love – Four Week Mini Bible Study Leader Training: If you are a leader and you plan on leading a Bible Study with one of my books then you need to know I have leader trainings/resources for you! You can view all the available leader trainings I have here, and you can check out my leader trying for my Love Bible Study here.
- Online Bible Studies coming this fall: I am really wanting to do online Bible studies this fall but I also have so many ideas as to how to facilitate the Bible studies. So, I would love it if you could take this survey for me letting me know which option you prefer when it comes to participating in online Bible Studies. That way I can be sure to put together an online Bible Study that you would be interested in joining!
- Writer Wednesday Link Up: I am loving my new link up community over at Becoming Press. While I am on my blogging break you will find scheduled posts going up every week for Writer Wednesday. If you have a blog then I would SO love for you to stop by every Wednesday and link up with our little community. It’s so much fun and we have a cute little hashtag now, too. #writerwednesday
- Autographed Bible Studies: I am now offering a limited amount of autographed Bible Studies in my book shop! Supplies are limited and I am only offering one autographed Bible Study at a time. The cost is $7 plus shipping & handling. You can grab your autographed copy of Love – Four Week Mini Bible Study here!
So that’s all I have for now. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe July!

Our faith begins with what we know and believe about God. Our faith will carry us how far we are willing to let it take us. Faith is a choice and we need to begin by choosing to believe in Jesus and His power to move mountains, heal the sick, and save us from all our sins through His sacrifice on the cross.
