Recently I switched from wearing glasses to wearing contacts. I’ve worn contacts before, so re-learning how to put my contacts in and taking them out was like "riding a bike." I feel like having contacts has a lot of perks that go along with them. For one, it does feels nice not having to clean my glasses every thirty minutes, or not having to squint through the smudges on my glasses because they’re dirty and I’m too lazy to clean them. Another perk is that I can now wear whatever sunglasses I ... View the Post
What do you believe?
Every day we need to ask ourselves what it is we believe. What we believe about God, our husband, our children, our life's ministry, everything. What we believe will determine whether we respond to this world in FEAR or FAITH. It will also determine what we do with our time, and who or what we invest in. Everyone believes in someone or something. All the events in this world that either inspire us and encourage us, or that makes our heart heavy and draws us into moments of hopelessness or despair, are all based of off something that someone has chosen to believe whether it be about themselves, God, or this world. In Hebrews 11:6 it says that it is impossible to please God without faith, and that we need to BELIEVE in Him. Jesus has called us to BELIEVE, and that is my word for 2016. I hope you will enjoy the devotionals below that I write on this topic throughout the year.
If you've ever had a prayer answered then you now what I mean by the time for prayer is now. Even if a prayer doesn't seem to be getting answered and sometimes we notice a delay, it always gets answered whether we like the answer or not. But sometimes God answers our prayers right away. So the question that plagues me is why we don't ask and pray more often? If God answers our prayers, then why don't we pray right now? The promise that God gives us in regards to prayer is a huge ... Wow, I can't believe it's been almost an entire month since I've blogged here on my little old space on the inter web. This past year my goal has always been to blog at least once a week, and I even developed a system that made that happen more often than it used to. But I guess blogging got away from me in April and it's been difficult to focus on God and overcome the spiritual distractions within my life, too. April was very busy for me and I had a lot of school projects due, work projects ... View the Post
Nobody gets to choose the life that they are given. However, they choose what comes after they are born into their inheritance on this earth. Not only do we inherit the life that our ancestors have built before us, but the life we build will be the life that our grandchildren inherit from us. What if we all realized this and grasped this reality? What life would those who come after us inherit? Will they have an advantage or a disadvantage in this world and in their life? There is no ... Sometimes it’s good to step away from things that used to give us pleasure but aren't necessarily good for us. Things like smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, certain people, certain habits, anything that may have caused harm to your body or your testimony, but some how they made dealing with the daily pressures of life a little bit easier. It’s OK to stop finding pleasure in these things even though it might be difficult for you to let go of these things. Sometimes when we let go of these ... View the Post
One thing I have noticed about Jesus is that He never lingered over something. In the garden of Gethsemane Jesus prayed three times for God to prevent Him from having to endure the cross, but at the end of the three prayers He was willing to accept the will of His Father. Jesus wasn't someone who dwelled over the fact that people didn't necessarily like Him. He did some miracles in His home town but then moved on because people simple didn't believe in Him. I can't help but think ... View the Post
