Sometimes the pressure of life can be overwhelming. Recently I found myself just trying to fix a problem so that I can FINALLY feel a little bit of peace and just get out from under this pressure that I've been feeling in every area of my life. I've also been struggling with the temptation to build walls, and live my life in a bubble just so that I wouldn't feel this pressure on a daily basis. In life there is always something. It might feel like we overcome on obstacle only to be ... View the Post
Devotionals on Your True Identity in Christ
God doesn't ask us to be more, He is only asking us to be ourself. So often we go through life trying to meet someone else's standards and expectations. But there is freedom in simply being the person God created us to be and we will never find out what that is unless we find out who we are in Christ. Here are some devotionals I have written on what it means to simply BE YOU!
We all know that judging people is not a wise thing to do. We all know that Jesus came and died on the cross not to judge the world, but to save the world. (John 3:17) The real problem is we continue to judge ourselves. Most of the time if someone is judging someone else, they are typically saying the same things to themselves in the dark corners of their own mind, in front of the mirror, when nobody else can see or hear. It took me a long time to get to the point where I didn't hate ... View the Post
In our house we have entered into a new season where all of my children are now in the double digits. So basically we have a house full of teens (pre-teens and a teenager.) Socks in the kitchen. (Yuck!) Socks in the hallway. Socks on the coffee table. Socks are basically found in ... View the Post
I signed up for two Bible Studies this fall. One on Monday evening, and another on Tuesday mornings. Maybe I just have too much time on my hands? Life has definitely been getting less busy and my schedule is getting less hectic, so maybe I am just trying to fill in the time with things to do? Recently while I was reading Soul Custody by Stephen Smith he said that Mother Theresa had developed a rhythm of rest for herself and the nuns she served alongside. It went like this: 1 ... Shortly after my 16th birthday I found out I was pregnant with my oldest daughter. It's not something I typically write about. But it is something I have to explain to people almost everyday. I have learned to embrace the fact that once you are a teen mom you will always be a teen mom because you will never look old enough to have a child that looks (fill in the age of child in the blank.) Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by it all. Being a mom doesn't get easier. The older my ... View the Post
This month has been a month of old wounds being opened back up. Memories that were long gone now resurfaced. Things I thought I had forgiven now feeling like they were never forgiven, just buried deep inside. I keep getting reminded of the hurt, the loss, and the offenses. I believe that anyone can forgive if they have been forgiven by Jesus, but I think it is almost impossible for anyone to forget. One Sunday at church we were all taking communion together. Our family was late of course, ... View the Post
