When I was growing up I dealt with a lot of bullying. It made me really self-conscious and I often wondered what other people thought of me. For awhile in my life I let what other people thought of me define me in spite of what I knew to be true about myself, and my actions. Recently I had realized that maybe I let other people's opinion of me control more of my life than I would like. We all have a tendency to make judgments about people, be suspicious of their actions, or even question ... View the Post
Devotionals on Your True Identity in Christ
God doesn't ask us to be more, He is only asking us to be ourself. So often we go through life trying to meet someone else's standards and expectations. But there is freedom in simply being the person God created us to be and we will never find out what that is unless we find out who we are in Christ. Here are some devotionals I have written on what it means to simply BE YOU!
Nobody gets to choose the life that they are given. However, they choose what comes after they are born into their inheritance on this earth. Not only do we inherit the life that our ancestors have built before us, but the life we build will be the life that our grandchildren inherit from us. What if we all realized this and grasped this reality? What life would those who come after us inherit? Will they have an advantage or a disadvantage in this world and in their life? There is no ... In December I wrote a daily advent devotional all the way up to day 22. I actually have day 25 sitting in my drafts sections, however I didn't publish it here on my blog. The plan is to create a lovely devotional book for you all to read and share with your loved ones every Christmas season, so the final days will be added to the daily advent devotional book. To be honest I was sad and disappointed that I didn't finish the daily devotional on my blog. It's not that I didn't have anything to ... View the Post
I don’t know if I stereotype everyone I come in contact with, but just today I found myself stereotyping MEN. As I was sitting there having lunch with my two youngest children I overheard a conversation by a man who was basically saying some very disturbing and degrading stuff about a women while on the phone. I just sat there stunned hoping my children did not hear the whole conversation especially the part that was most disturbing. I had to sit there for a moment and filter ... View the Post
When I was in the fourth grade I started an inch worm rescue mission. It started one day during recess. We were outside and I had discovered this group of inch worms that I just thought were the cutest things that ever existed, besides kittens. My friend helped me gather the inch worms into my little coin purse for safe keeping. As we were gathering them up this girl who would tease me on a daily basis came over to see what we were doing and I guess she thought the inch worms were ... View the Post
When I became pregnant with my oldest daughter at 16 years old I had a lot of difficult decisions to make. I guess the first decision I had to make was whether or not I was going to raise my child. The option of abortion was there, but I knew in my heart that wasn’t an option for me. When I was in sixth grade I did a group project with my friends for school and the topic was abortion. From that point on I knew it was not something I would ever be OK with doing, and I know that all ... View the Post
