I remember growing up believing in God but my thoughts on Jesus were ones filled with indifference mostly based out of ignorance.
But when I finally understood WHO Jesus was, not just that He was the son of God and I needed to believe in Him in order to live in heaven for all eternity. But when I finally understood His heart for me and everyone in this world, that was when I started to believe in Him FULLY and I became devoted to living out my life being His disciple.
The fact is, if Jesus wasn’t the person that He was then it probably would’ve been more difficult to finally give my heart fully to Him.
It almost doesn’t make sense for the Creator to become His creation.
The greatest becoming the smallest.
Christmas is a reminder to me that God always does things differently. He is not like every other leader, person, or King in this world.
It reminds me not to be like every other person in this world, which isn’t easy when we are consumed by what culture says we should do instead of simply following the promptings of The Holy Spirit.
So today I pause to think how I can handle every thought, situation, and action in a different way, one that is not like what culture says to do, but instead is what Jesus already did as an example to us.

Our faith begins with what we know and believe about God. Our faith will carry us how far we are willing to let it take us. Faith is a choice and we need to begin by choosing to believe in Jesus and His power to move mountains, heal the sick, and save us from all our sins through His sacrifice on the cross.
