31 Days of Giving: Horizon International

For the next 31 days (the entire month of October) I will be participating in the challenge to blog here on my blog every. single. day for the next 31 days. My topic? Giving!

For the next 31 days I will be sharing a different charity with you. In this post I will include a little word from me, information about the charity, and how you can donate online to this charity.

My challenge for you (I am joining in too!):
Is to help support the charity I feature in SOME way. You can do this by donating $5 to each charity I feature, or you can tweet the post I share on my blog, or share it on Facebook. My hope and prayer is that you will JOIN ME in spreading the word about the these awesome charities I will be sharing with you. So please pray about how you can help, and how you can be challenged this month to GIVE MORE.

Today’s Charity: Horizon International

I was actually introduced to this Horizon International through my church. The one thing I love about Horizon is that they specifically work with aids orphans in Africa. I personally have a soft place in my heart for the children in Africa.

Horizon International’s Mission (from their website):

Horizon International is a non-profit Christian relief and development organization dedicated to caring for orphans affected by HIV/AIDS. We serve these orphans and their communities regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty and live free from the bonds of poverty and disease.

Some ways you can help Horizon International fulfill their mission and purpose is to sponsor a child, make a donation online, purchase something from their gift catalog, or share this wonderful charity with your friends and family by sharing this post on twitter and Facebook. You can also LIKE them on Facebook here!

I hope you will join me in the “31 Days to Give” challenge, and help support this wonderful charity today!

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:27) Bless you, Heather, for focusing on the children!
